Upload your first flat file in Prophecy

Follow these steps to upload a flat file into Prophecy:

Create a new project

1. On the Prophecy home page shortcuts, select “New Project.”

2. Name your project (no spaces), select your team and “prophecy for analysts” template. Click complete.

   

3. Select the default fabric and click save.

Method 1: Upload your file via the AI agent chat

1. Click on the paper clip icon to attach a data file. The recommended maximum file size is 100MB, and you can upload the following file formats:

   • CSV

   • Excel (XLS, XLSX)

   • JSON

   • Parquet

   • XML

2. Once attached, ask AI any question about your data, and it will start building your pipeline.

Method 2: Upload your file to an existing pipeline

1. In your pipeline, drag and drop your flat file onto the canvas.

2. Select the default database, set the schema to “main,” and type the name of your dataset into the table dropdown to create a new table.

   

3. Click “next” and review the properties and make any adjustments needed.

4. Click “done” to finish uploading the file.
