Announcing Prophecy 4.2.8

This release is a performance upgrade, with huge improvements to the IDE, Snowflake integration, and AI agent experiences. Let’s get into it.

Say hello to a lighter, faster IDE

Building on 4.2.7’s foundation, this release goes much deeper on performance. A new on-disk dependency cache skips redundant downloads and reuses parsed metadata across builds, and project open time drops on every workspace.

Canvas interactions on large pipelines are dramatically improved, ~5× faster on very large pipelines, with meaningfully lower memory usage during schema analysis. SQL DBT model code generation now runs in parallel, too. You can expect:

  • Lighter, faster page loads

  • Snappier large-pipeline canvas

  • Lighter Databricks schema analysis

  • Save without recompiling

Migrate Alteryx workflows seamlessly to Snowflake SQL

You can now migrate Alteryx workflows to Snowflake SQL — the selected fabric determines the SQL dialect, generating pipelines that run natively on Snowflake. For large workflows, a new Break into Multiple Workflows option splits them into smaller Prophecy pipelines with an auto-generated orchestration pipeline to coordinate execution. Alteryx visual containers can be preserved, too, so related workflow sections stay grouped in the generated pipelines.

The transform agent is now updated in Snowflake projects as well, bringing Snowflake closer to parity on Prophecy.

Discover the improved AI chat experience

Agent chat has been updated with a cleaner conversation experience. You can now manage chats from chat history, start a new chat, rename chats, delete chats, and copy session details from one place. The chat input still supports file uploads and @ mentions for referencing project entities.

AI-generated changes now show a review area with the edited entities, and you can expect clearer errors when they pop up.
